expeditionaries & saint joseph’s university present

a social entreprenership bootcamp / pitch competition

Our Expeditions for college students are coming!

Expedition 1: April 23, 24, 25, and 28

Expedition 2: May 18 - 21

deadline to apply: March 31, 2021

wHAT IS an EXPEDITION?

An Expedition is a 4-day social entrepreneurship bootcamp.

wHY DO WE NEED EXPEDITIONarieS?

Expeditionaries (ie, students undertaking an Expedition) learn how to tackle the world’s most pressing problems.

hOW DOes an expedition WORK?

Students work in teams to identify a social impact problem that matters to them, design a prototype solution, and improve it through feedback.

At the end of an Expedition, teams present their problem-solution set to a CEO panel for feedback. The CEO panel has discretion to award up to $5000 to teams to create a working prototype.

In addition, each day we invite guest executives for a daily Q&A. Guests will talk about how their organizations pursue social impact, and students can ask questions and network.

Check out the images below from previous Expeditions to learn more about the experience.

Who is it for?

Cohorts are diverse-by-design, because they learn more and grow more deeply. Diverse teams solve problems more effectively. Most of all, "encounter" with others is a core Jesuit principle.

That is why we strongly encourage applications from students of color, first-generation students, and students receiving significant financial assistance from their college.

What does it cost?

Nothing except your time, attention, and active participation.

Saint Joseph’s University Pedro Arrupe Center for Business Ethics has partnered with Expeditionaries to provide full scholarships for every student admitted to this program.
