What if we treated skills as a portfolio that requires careful balancing?

What would our ratio of expiring vs. enduring skills look like?

How much would we focus on the faster, surface pace layers? How much would we focus on the slower, core pace layers?

Just as a financial investment portfolio guides where we put our money, a skills investment portfolio could guide where we put our attention, time, energy—and, for schools, curriculum and assessment resources.

Otherwise, we’re just blowing with the wind.
