Failing vs Falling


Being right is fine—to the extent that being right affirms what you have already learned.

Being wrong is even better—to the extent that you can treat it as an opportunity to learn something new.

So why do we sustain learning environments in which kids experience being wrong as failing rather than falling (and getting back up)?
