What if... mental models?
What if school were a place for students to develop and test mental models of how the world works?
In other words, what if school balanced scrimmages and games—learning experiences in which students figure out what matters to them and what they’re going to do about it—with stations-based drills—learning experiences in which the teacher or the textbook already knows the questions and the answers?
Each Wednesday we share a “what if” scenario. Consider it a provocation rather than a suggestion.
