What if... teachers as professional athletes?

What if we treated teachers like professional athletes and gave them access to "game film" of their teaching?

What if that access were nearly-real time? What if a school had a learning rounds culture and system that enabled small teams of "coaches" (i.e., other teachers) to slip into a class, "clip" scenes of that teacher's work, and then do a review with the teacher half-way through the class period? For veteran teachers comfortable with feedback, what if students were involvedin that "half-time" review?

*Inspired by this fascinating analysis of the half-time routine that contributes to the Golden State Warriors' tremendous success.

Each Wednesday we share a "what if" scenario. These are not suggestions as much as provocations.

If you have a "what if" scenario you would like to share, just send an email (and indicate whether you would like it attributed it to you).
